Here are some tips to help with your shaving:

ELECTRICITY

Can I shave with electricity?  Technically no, but if you mean can you shave with an electric razor, yes you can.  We don’t recommend it but it is certainly your choice.   There was a time when the owner was in the Navy serving on submarines.  He used a regular razor as often as he could, but when time was short he had an electric razor standing by just in case.  The same may be true for you. Perhaps you want to save some precious time or you overslept but don’t want to start the day with a 5 O’clock shadow.

The thing with electric razors is that you need to press them tightly to your face which tends to strip all the oils off of your face.  The end result is it feels a lot like someone has been rubbing your face with something rough somewhere between a wood rasp and 200 grit sand paper.  May we suggest applying a couple of drops of shaving oil to your beard before using your electric?  This will help by augmenting the oils and not completely stripping your face.

BLADES

How can I maximize my razors blade life?  The little buggers are expensive!  Research says that one of the biggest detractors to blade life is how you treat the blade.  Thoroughly rinse and DRY your blade after using it.  How to dry a blade?  “push” the blade across a dry towel.

After that place a drop of shaving oil on the edge of the blades, that will help to keep oxygen (= rust) from the blade.

A friend suggested submerging the blade in a glass of vodka. Again keeping the blade away from oxygen is paramount. I haven’t tried this yet, but it might be fun to have a shot of vodka in the medicine cabinet. You could use it to clean wounds. If you decide to drink it, I have two recommendations:
1. take the blade out of the glass before drinking -and-
2. drink after shaving 😉
