Travel With DE Razor Can Be Tricky

trainTravelling with a DE Razor can be tricky.  Or at least, airline travel with DE Razor can be tricky. You can always check your DE razor blades in your baggage that goes in the cargo hold.  If you’re not travelling with that much baggage or have none to check, then what do you do?

Unfortunately there aren’t many options.  While it is easy enough to travel with the handle, TSA won’t let you carry your razor WITH a blade in your carry on bag.  No loose DE blades, no blade loaded in your DE Razor. You must either put it in your checked bag or not bring one at all.  What to do? You’ll be glad to know that you can easily buy DE razor blades at most drug stores with a 5 pack being anywhere from $2 to $5.  Alternatively you could succumb and just borrow a razor at the hotel.  I’m confident they’ll have a cheap disposable they’ll let you use.  I’ve found  blades at CVS, Rite-aid, Walgreens, and Target.  We’ve also seen them in most larger grocery stores that include a “drug store” section.

But won’t you feel better and more confident having shaved with your big iron?  Besides if you buy the pack of blades, you can put them in your checked bag for the return trip home.  Or, better yet, share them with a colleague maybe you’ll get them to be a safety razor convert too.
